When starting my business I looked into the different types of waxes available on the market. I wanted something that performed as well as soy but wasn't soy. Due to allergies in the family I wanted something that didn't affect the health of those around me. I originally went with coconut wax but I found it a little temperamental with different fragrances and seemed to need a higher fragrance ratio. This for me made it a more expensive product to make. Rapeseed & Coconut wax was a relatively new wax to the market and ticked a lot of the boxes I was looking for. This is a highly sustainable wax that contains no, paraffin, soy, palm or bees wax and is completely GMO free with only rapeseed and coconut oil used and free from addiditives.

Here are some of the benefits I found with Rapeseed & Coconut compared to Soy wax.

Renewable resources: Both rapeseed and coconut are derived from readily renewable crops, addressing concerns about deforestation associated with unsustainable soy production.
European origin: Rapeseed and coconut wax often come from Europe, where stricter regulations can potentially minimize environmental impact compared to some soy sources.

Burn Characteristics:

Cleaner burn: This blend generally produces less soot than soy wax, leading to cleaner indoor air and potentially better respiratory health. A big positive factor for me in deciding on wax.

Longer burn time: These waxes tend to burn slower than soy, offering extended burn time and potentially better value for money.

Improved fragrance throw: The combined wax releases fragrance more effectively, providing a stronger and more consistent scent experience compared to soy.

Additional benefits:

Vegan and natural: Both rapeseed and coconut wax are naturally derived and considered vegan, appealing to those with specific dietary or ethical preferences.

Biodegradable: Both waxes decompose naturally over time, contributing positively to the environment.
